Environment/Space/Equipment

Shallow water pool (student must have feet)
Sufficient space for the student to move in a straight line. (+- 12.5m)
Equipment per student: 1 Plate and 1 Plastic Cup.

Group management

The activity is carried out individually, 1 at a time in a circuit.
Teacher outside the water.
Constant supervision.

Time/Duration/Schedule

5 to 10 minutes.
Fundamental part of the class.

Pre-requisite

Maintain a vertical position in the water and move independently.

Description

The student is standing upright in the water, holding a board with both hands. On top of the board is a plastic cup filled with water. The objective is for the student to move without letting the glass fall or spill the water.
 
Variation: Perform the exercise holding the plate with just one hand.
Tip: Encourage the child to move slowly, keeping their arms stretched out in front of their body. You can add motivational elements, such as “be the best Titanic”.
